Dear Mr. Dimitri S. Kerkentzes, Secretary General of the BIE,
Subject: Provision of information “World Exposition 2025: Draft Environmental Impact Statement from Citizen's Perspective (Biodiversity) [Summary]”
We have been paying attention to the nature of Yumeshima, where the World Exposition 2025 will be held, and have been conducting surveys on wild lives for the past two years. Yumeshima has been designated as a "biodiversity hotspot" by Osaka Prefecture. As described above, we have compiled a summary of the Draft Environmental Impact Statement from Citizen's Perspective (Biodiversity) and made it available to the public. We plan to send the summary to environmental research groups and nature conservation organizations to obtain their opinions before finalizing the full report.
The process of an environmental impact assessment based on Osaka City ordinances is currently underway, but the draft is not yet complete. We would appreciate it if you could refer to the information from us first.
We welcome the opportunity to share our survey data with the BIE. Please feel free to contact us for more information.
Sincerely,
NATUHARA, Yosihiro
